Start with the sound, not panic

The video explains how heat, humidity and rubber seal contact can create sunroof-area sound, while also calling out when the sound needs a proper check.

The problem

Some owners hear knocking, creaking or rattling around the sunroof area and immediately worry something is broken.

What we found

In hot and humid conditions, rubber seal contact against glass can create sound. That can be a normal characteristic on many sunroof-equipped cars.

When to inspect

  • The sound is unusually loud.
  • There is water leakage.
  • Something feels loose.
  • Panel alignment or movement feels wrong.

Why it helps

Knowing the difference between normal seal sound and a possible defect helps owners decide when to monitor and when to visit a service centre.

Owner note

This page is intentionally not a step-by-step repair. The provided content is about understanding the sound and knowing when to inspect further.
